How to Prepare Your Home for a New Doodle Puppy
Bringing home a Goldendoodle, Labradoodle, or Double Doodle puppy is exciting. A little preparation helps your new family member settle in safely and confidently.
Create a safe puppy area
Choose a quiet, easy-to-clean space with a comfortable bed, fresh water, age-appropriate toys, and a crate or pen. Remove small objects, electrical cords, toxic plants, and anything your puppy could chew or swallow.
Gather the essentials
Prepare food recommended by your breeder or veterinarian, bowls, a collar and leash, identification, puppy-safe chew toys, cleaning supplies, and a secured travel crate for the ride home.
Plan the first few days
Keep the first days calm and predictable. Establish a potty routine, schedule a veterinarian visit, and introduce new people and experiences gradually. Positive, gentle socialization helps puppies grow into confident companions.
